Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos made some daring and surprising call-ups to his final squad that will take part in the forthcoming international friendly game.
South Africa will host Taifa Stars of Tanzania on Friday, June 6, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. The national team will then travel to Tshwane where they will play Cosafa member Mozambique on Tuesday, June 10.
Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Deano van Rooyen, Mohau Nkota, and Simphiwe Selepe are players who are expected to make their debuts after shining for Orlando Pirates. One name that might have surprised many is that of Selepe who made his debut on May 3 when he came in as a substitute in the 2-1 Soweto derby win over Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League.
Broos has now justified his decision to hand the 20-year-old midfielder a chance as opposed to giving at least one Kaizer Chiefs player an opportunity to show his worth.
Why did Broos go for Selepe?

Selepe has played six games for Bucs and scored a goal in the process; the Belgian has revealed what he liked about him.
“What I like about Selepe is that, first of all, he is a good midfielder; he is good at passing and has scored goals. He is a versatile player who not only plays defensively but can also help the team offensively, and he is young,” he told the media.
“But now, even if we lose these two games, we will still not be happy because we have to win them.
“There are guys from the Under-20; these games are good for them, and they can show their skills without pressure. We can also judge them to say, ‘This one is ready, and this one we have to wait a little bit, ’ two to three months, before we can give him another chance,” he concluded.
