CAF CL: Scoring three at Orlando isn’t a problem! Pirates psyched, Lupopo warned ahead of crunch tie

Orlando Pirates have a massive task on Saturday in the second leg of the CAF Champions League's second preliminary round against St Eloi Lupopo.

The first leg which was played in Lubumbashi ended 3-0 in favour of the Democratic Republic of Congo outfit. Ahead of the Saturday meeting, the Buccaneers are hopeful of overturning the initial result at the Orlando Stadium.

The aggregate winner will be advancing to the group stage of the annual competition. Having reached the semi-final last season before falling to eventual champions Pyramids, the Sea Robbers are still hoping to defy the odds and eliminate Lupopo.

Club legend Innocent Chikoya insists it is very possible for the Soweto giants to get their ticket for the next phase.

Scoring three at Pirates is very possible

“We just need to be very strong. We know we are in trouble, but it's not over until the Fat Lady sings,” he said in his recent interview with KickOff.

“Scoring three goals in Orlando is possible, and for the fourth goal, we will cross that bridge when we get to it. But three goals are definitely achievable. Football gives me hope. Many strange things have happened in the sport before. They can score three goals.

“What happened in the first leg was something we should have anticipated. When playing in the Champions League, you expect tough matches because you're competing against champions.

“Your mentality has to be sharp; you need to be very aggressive. They scored three, and we can score three as well,” Chikoya concluded.
