Following Kaizer Chiefs’ 2-1 win over Al Masry in the CAF Confederation Cup, attention has turned to what they need in the final match to seal their place in the quarter-final.
The Glamour Boys head into the final match leading their group with 10 points from five games, two better than Zamalek, who suffered a shock 1-0 loss to ZESCO United, and three better than Al Masry.
With their final match being a tough trip to Zamalek in Cairo, Chiefs face a daunting task but to be sure of a place in the quarter-final, they still need a result.

Assuming Chiefs pull off a victory against the Egyptian side, they will cruise to the quarter-final as Group D leaders with 13 points and hopefully land a kind fixture in the last eight.
Permutations for Kaizer Chiefs
If the Glamour Boys draw, that would be enough as it would take their tally to 11 points and still top of the group with the maximum Al Masry can get being 10.
However, a loss for Chiefs would complicate things as Zamalek would be on 11 points and Al Masry on 10 if they beat ZESCO, same as the Glamour Boys.

That would take it to head-to-head where Chiefs and Al Masry have an identical record after both sides won 2-1 at home in their two meetings but with a goal difference of zero compared to +2 for the Glamour Boys, the Soweto giants would go through.
However, if Chiefs lose and Al Masry fail to beat ZESCO, then it would be an easy passage for Amakhosi into the knockout round.
