‘Can Pirates call Chiefs donkeys? This is what we always cry about!’ Amakhosi salivating for Soweto derby

Kaizer Chiefs made the quarter finals of the Carling Knockout thanks to their 3-0 win over TS Galaxy on Tuesday night at the FNB Stadium.

A hattrick by Wandile Duba was all the Glamour Boys needed to end their consecutive three draws in domestic football.

The win is a massive confidence-booster for the Glamour Boys ahead of the Saturday Premier Soccer League’s Soweto derby against traditional rivals Orlando Pirates.

Mthethwa, what a player!

Sibongiseni Mthethwa has been praised for positively influencing the game and effectively dominating the midfield. The most interesting part is where one Chiefs supporter dared Orlando Pirates to call them ‘donkeys‘ as TS Galaxy did before the Tuesday game.

Top performance from the Spanish CDM. I swear if the Ballon d’Or had taken place after Tuesday, he surely was going to make the top 10 just from that performance alone. Sibongiseni Mthethwa, what a player – Aey Dear

On Saturday we can’t afford to be missing chances and playing scrapy mud football. Welcome back Rushwin Dortley. Our players need to know what to do in the box. Galaxy are dead, we should have given them 6+ goals –  Dashin Avhasei Maphupha

Can Orlando Pirates call us donkeys as well? – Enhle

The sad part about this game is that some ignorant fans will start posting give us Manchester City or things like we are back. But if you look closely you’ll notice a big problem with coaching.  For me this was a game where players were just proving that they are still good – Dr Tshego

We really came to the party, we were much better. Can we go to the Soweto derby with the same mentality? We have to give credit where is needed, I am happy but we don’t want PSG yet – Tshepi

Mthethwa is the best DM in the world, don’t let any other fan base convince you otherwise, he collets the ball straight from their legs – Yena

Inacio Miguel was benched as Rushwin Dortley finally made it back to the starting XI, and put up a decent show.

Well done boys, I am proud of you. All I am asking for is consistency. My love for you will never fade –  Tobisani Tobbo Khosi

I saw positive body language and determination from the players last night. Build from that and believe me we will have a team to compete.  Encourage these players and do team building routines consistently – Thabang

Can you continue resting Inacio Miguel even this coming weekend? –  Zikode ka Phikela

This is what we always cry about. Only if we can see this level of hunger and commitment against all the small 13 PSL teams and then put a fight in Sundowns and Pirates matches – Joy Lethabo

Chiefs is like the police, it might look like they are not doing their job until they start looking for you – Nels Maraka
