Cape Town City have appointed former Kaizer Chiefs mentor Muhsin Ertugral as their new Technical Director and he will step in as head coach until the end of the season.

Ertugral replaces Eric Tinkler, who was sacked earlier this week following a string of poor results.

Tinkler's departure marks the end of a four-year tenure with the club, having joined in 2021 to replace Jan Olde Riekerink.

Ertugral, assisted by Diogo Peral and Lebogang Manyama, has been tasked with reviving the fortunes of the Betway Premiership side.

”Muhsin brings a wealth of local and international football experience to the club’s future project, having most recently served as the Technical Advisor of the Turkish national team for the past 4 years.

“Muhsin will step in as head coach until the end of the current season, joining first team coaches Diogo Peral and Lebogang Manyama.”

Ertugral First Five Matches

If Ertugral's work permit is approved before the weekend, his first match will be against his former club, Kaizer Chiefs, followed by another match against his former club, Orlando Pirates.
