Cape Town City have parted ways with head coach Eric Tinkler following a string of disappointing results in the 2024/25 Betway Premiership.
The club announced on social media that they had reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
Tinkler's departure marks the end of an almost four-year tenure with the club. A recent run of poor form, leaving City languishing in 12th place in the league table, ultimately led to this decision.
The club has recorded only three wins in their opening 10 matches, with two draws and five losses.
This development comes at a crucial time for City, who are set to face Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in their upcoming fixtures.
CAPE TOWN CITY’S STATEMENT ON ERIC TINKLER
“Cape Town City and head coach Eric Tinkler have mutually agreed to part ways,” reads the club’s statement.
“The club expresses gratitude towards Eric for the last three seasons where he presided over 2nd, 4th and 5th place finishes. We wish Eric the very best for the future.
“The club will announce a new interim coach as we build up to an exciting new project for the 25/26 season and beyond.”
