Cardoso advised to start a player who can win him the Caf Champions League

Mamelodi Sundowns hope to win the Caf Champions League for the second time in their history on Sunday when they play Pyramids in the second leg to be played at the 30 June Stadium.

Stakes are high ahead of the fixture, especially after the initial meeting at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria ended 1-1. Lucas Ribeiro struck early in the second half before Walid El Karti's late goal denied the Premier Soccer League champions a vital win.

A win for Miguel Cardoso's side or a high-scoring game this weekend will see his team crowned. Former club midfielder Benedict Tso Vilakazi has now advised the former Esperance coach on what to do to ensure his team gets past Pyramids.

He has advised the Portuguese on a major change he should make in the creative department for his team to stand a chance of winning.

It is easier for Masandawana to beat Pyramids, but…

“Sundowns is still in the game it’s up to the coach; If the coach wants to win the CAF final, it’s easier for him very, very easy. Just take out [Arthur] Sales for the next game,” he told iDiski Times.

“Take out Sales and then you put in Mshishi [Themba Zwane], put in [Lucas] Ribeiro, and then say [Iqraam] Rayners, stay there.

“Put Mshishi and Ribeiro just behind Rayners and then have three midfielders so that we can play, because if you don’t have Ribeiro and Mshishi playing in those pockets, then they are going to lose,” Vilakazi concluded.

Masandawana won their maiden trophy in 2016, while Pyramids are looking for their first ever crown.
