Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has pointed out the his side’s struggle despite a win over AmaZulu FC in the Betway Premiership.
The Brazilians downed AmaZulu 2-0 on Tuesday, further extending their lead at the top of the league standings to 18 points.
This advantage widened after second-placed Orlando Pirates were held to a goalless draw by Stellenbosch FC.
Second-half goals from Peter Shalulile and Arthur Sales secured the victory for the champions ensuring they claimed maximum points at home.
Sundowns gaffer Cardoso saw signs of a lack of mental freshness in his troops due to congested fixture schedule they have faced recently.

CARDOSO SEES LACK OF MENTAL FRESHNESS IN HIS TROOPS
“First half very narrow the game. Lack of mental freshness,” he told SuperSport TV after the match as quoted by iDiski Times.
“Eventually, we were not using in the right way the length of the pitch, the width of the pitch.
“We had to do subbing in order to bring in some energy, sometimes things work out well, sometimes they don’t. Today they did.
“I think it’s deserved that we win the match.
“The second half brought something else, another energy and then to cope with the moments, we understood that we needed to change the players that were tired in order to keep the team up and alive.
“So, congratulations for the boys.”
