Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has detailed the reasons behind his team's crushing defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup.

Amakhosi were hammered 4-0 in the quarterfinal at the FNB Stadium, unable to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Nabi admitted that his team didn't perform up to par on that day, but he also took responsibility for the outcome as a coach.

The Tunisian tactician believes that the Chiefs players were nervous from the beginning of the match.

He believes they were not decisive, resulting in the loss of several opportunities.

NABI ON WHAT WAS THE ‘PROLEM’ FOR CHIEFS IN A MATCH AGAINST SUNDOWNS

“I think if I share your sentiments that the players were not good enough today. But the responsibility is mine as a coach. I will take full responsibility for today's game,” said Nabi.

“Because I don't want to criticize my players in front of the media. But I will do it inside. Everyone will take his responsibility.

“But I believe that it is true that they were far from their best performance. Because even at the beginning of the game, they were nervous. A lot of missed passes, a lot of balls lost and so on.”
