Amidst their poor run of form, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has maintained that his team is not good enough and needs rebuilding.
Nabi has presided over a poor campaign with Chiefs in danger of missing out on the top eight for a second season in a row unless they can beat Polokwane City in their final match of the season on Saturday.
That appears a tough task for Nabi’s team that has not won any of their last eight league matches, even though they had a great Nedbank Cup run that ended with a 2-1 win in the final against Orlando Pirates, to end their 10-year trophy drought.
Dove slams Chiefs over poor results

The poor run has left Nabi’s position under scrutiny with reports claiming he could be sacked but the veteran coach has insisted he is the right man but lacks the squad to produce positive results hence the need for reinforcements.
However, defender Edmilson Dove seems to disagree with his coach after terming their poor season a big disappointment that everyone should be ashamed of and is not buying the line that the team is not good enough and needs rebuilding.
“It is one of the biggest teams in Africa. When you come here, you come here to win titles and not to build or not find yourself in the position where we find ourselves in now,” Dove told the media on Wednesday, as quoted by Soccer Laduma.
“From my particular opinion, I think at some point we have failed the club. That is why we are given chances to fight with each and every opportunity and at this point in time we can’t dwell on the past.
Can Amakhosi seal top eight?

“We have to look forward and see what is ahead of us. Yes, obviously we could have had a better season and done better and that is the sentiment amongst the group. But I think now we just want to focus on what we can do at the moment and that is to qualify for the top eight,” the defender further said.
Chiefs have won just eight of their 27 league games, losing 12 to the disappointment of their fans, and they head into their final league match in ninth position and must beat Polokwane to finish in the top eight.
Dove, meanwhile, has played 12 games in all competitions this season, having started the season with an injury.
