Chiefs legend – ‘The team could end up signing 40 players of no use’

As Kaizer Chiefs continue to struggle, club legend Humphrey Mlwane warns that the team mustn’t make unnecessary signings in a desperate attempt to improve.

The appointment of Nasreddine Nabi and his new technical team raised hopes at the start of the season, with Chiefs initially showing promise with two consecutive wins and strong performances.

However, their form has since declined, and the team is struggling to gain points.

While Nabi and supporters have called for quality additions in the next transfer window, Mlwane believes the club's desperation could lead them to sign numerous players who won't ultimately contribute to the team's success.

CHIEFS LEGEND – ‘ALL OF THEM ARE IN THIS TOGETHER’

“The results for Chiefs have been disappointing. I just don't know what's happening with the team and all that I can say is that for us who love the team, we are disappointed,” Mlwane told Soccer Laduma.

“I don't want to single out anyone, whether the problem is with the coach or players, all of them are in this together and it is disappointing what is happening.

“We had a lot of expectations about the team to improve under the new coach (Nasreddine Nabi) but judging by what we have seen so far and the results, it looks like we are in for a very long season. The results have not been impressive.

“There is just no progress and all I see is huffing and puffing by the team and it's disappointing. It's like the team is taking one step forward and 10 backwards. I just feel sorry for Chiefs supporters because their team is so disappointing.

“But let's not give up on the team and maybe there is work that is being done behind the scenes to improve the team and the results. I am just worried that the team could end up signing 40 players trying to fix this problem to no avail.”
