Chiefs set to part ways with striker – report

Kaizer Chiefs are set to part ways with striker Ranga Chivaviro at the end of the current season, according to iDiski Times.

The 32-year-old striker, who had spent two seasons in Naturena, had a contract that was set to expire at the conclusion of the current season.

Chivaviro joined the club at the start of the 2023/24 campaign. The Phefeni Glamour Boys reportedly had to pay Richards Bay, who had signed him first from Marumo Gallants.

In the season before joining the club, he had netted 17 goals in 30 matches, a performance that attracted widespread attention.

Chiefs secured the signing of Chivaviro, beating out Tanzanian giants Young Africans. Yanga had been keen on the striker following his impressive performances in the CAF Confederation Cup with Marumo Gallants.

Since joining Amakhosi, Chivaviro's first season of just four goals in 23 appearances across all competitions has seemingly meant he didn't live up to expectations.

Meanwhile, this season, the Limpopo-born forward rattled the back of the net on five occasions after 22 appearances across all competitions.

According to iDiski Times, the Soweto giants have decided against extending his stay at the club.

The report added that there hasn’t been any discussions about a new contract between the player’s agent and the club.

OTHER EXPIRING CONTRACTS AT CHIEFS

Edson Castillo and Reeve Frosler’s contracts were also set to come to an end at the conclusion of the season, however, they have also inked new deals with the club.

According to the rumours, Edmilson Dove is said to be on his way out as he’s wanted in the Gulf region.

The futures of Lehlogonolo Matlou, Yusuf Maart, Mduduzi Shabalala and Njabulo Blom remain uncertain.
