Siyabonga Nomvethe, a revered figure among Kaizer Chiefs faithful, has weighed in on the club's desperate search for a new striker, presenting a strong argument for why Fiston Mayele from Pyramids FC is the perfect fit.
Chiefs have endured persistent struggles in front of goal for an extended period, sorely lacking a reliable forward who can consistently put the ball in the back of the net.
This glaring deficiency was highlighted last season when Glody Lilepo, a mid-season acquisition, topped the club's Betway Premiership scoring charts with a mere six goals, remarkably surpassing the tallies of players who had been with the team for the entire campaign.
Nomvethe asserts that if Chiefs are to return to their competitive best, they must secure a striker who guarantees goals. He confidently puts forward Mayele as the ideal solution.
The former Young Africans hitman, Nomvethe contends, possesses all the necessary attributes that the Naturena-based club requires in a frontman.

Crucially, Nomvethe believes that Mayele's success hinges largely on his teammates providing him with a steady supply of service.
Nomvethe’s backing of Mayele suggests that if Amakhosi can secure his signature and ensure proper support from the midfield and wings, their goal-scoring drought could finally come to an end, paving the way for a more successful season.
‘MAYELE HAS EVERYTHING’
“You have to work hard to get a striker,” said Nomvethe.
“You need to get someone who will give their best here, who always want to up their game.
“And you know that it’s not easy to get a striker. But then Chiefs need to really hunt down the striker because when you look at this African guy [Fiston Mayele], he has everything, he needs people that he can play with.”
