Chiefs & Sundowns locked out of their targets?

Thabang Matuludi and Oswin Appollis have been consistently delivering for Polokwane City in the Premier Soccer League.

The latter played a crucial role in helping Bafana Bafana seal their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations slot with an assured performance that saw him get directly involved in six goals the team scored.

While Mamelodi Sundowns are known admirers of Oswin Appollis, Kaizer Chiefs are hoping to sign the duo. With their recent exploits, the two top teams in Mzansi might make a bid in the January Transfer window.

Will Polokwane allow Matuludi and Appollis to leave?

In his recent interview with the media, the Rise and Shine coach Phuti Mohafe is hoping to have the duo for a full season.

“I’m more than happy to still have them in the team because they are the core, and they are the most important players for us, even though those guys are touting for them,” he stated.

“So I think it’s a blessing in disguise for Polokwane City to still have them. As for how long they are going to be with us, that one, I don’t know. That one, I don’t know, but I just so wish that they can still be with us for another season.”

Will Polokwane finish in the top eight once again?

“We need to be as stubborn, as stubborn as a horse. We need to be resilient, and these teams, when we play them, they must know that they are playing another big team,” Mohafe added.

“They must not say this team is still a small team. Now we regard ourselves as a big team because we qualified for the top eight.

“So, the top eight is not for the small teams. So we regard ourselves as the big team, so we must maintain the standard.”

Polokwane are currently third on the table with 13 points from eight games, and on Sunday they will host TS Galaxy at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
