The uncertainty surrounding Kaizer Chiefs‘ head coach Nasreddine Nabi is on the minds of many, but goalkeeper Brandon Petersen insists the team must remain focused on the field.
Nabi was not with the team over the weekend, fueling widespread reports that he had already parted ways with the Soweto giants.
In an official club statement released last Friday, Kaizer Chiefs addressed the speculation, announcing that the Tunisian coach would not be traveling with the squad to Angola for their next game.
The club described the matter as an internal issue, stating that “discussions between the Club and the Coach remain ongoing.”
At the Carling Knockout launch in Johannesburg, Petersen faced questions about the situation. He responded with a message of professionalism and resolve, asserting that the players “cannot dwell on the coaching issue.”

PETERSEN SAYS CHIEFS CAN’T DWEL ON COACHING ISSUE
“Coaches come and coaches go. Players come and players go. We can’t dwell too much on that. Obviously, it is not nice to lose a coach but at the end of the day we have a job at hand and fixtures to look forward to,” said Petersen as quoted by Soccer Laduma.
“So, we can’t dwell on what’s been happening. For us, it is to stay focused. We have a goal in mind. For us, it is to go and perform to the best of our abilities in every game.
“So, that is the main focus for us now and Wednesday we have a game coming up so we have to go out there and fix what we have to fix.”
