The Amakhosi cenre-back has opened up about the expectations of their new coach

Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has shared how the team is coping with the demands of new coach Nasreddine Nabi during their pre-season in Turkey.

Amakhosi flew to Turkey last week before Nabi joined them and the players are getting to understand what the Tunisian tactician is all about and what he requires from them.

Centre-back Dove says the Glamour Boys have so far been impressed by what they are seeing while lauding the club for taking them on pre-season to a place where they can only focus on football.

‘It’s trying to get all the philosophy of what he [Nabi] wants’

“We are in a space where we only focus on football and get all the elements needed when the season starts. All the tactics, the technical side of it,” said Dove, who revealed that they are now doing three training sessions in a day.

“We have a new technical team so it’s trying to get all the philosophy of what he [Nabi] wants. Every coach is different and has different approaches on what they want.

“It is up to us to assimilate everything that they are trying to give us and make it work on the field and we are hoping that everyone as a collective we can get all the things that are needed to be sharp before the beginning of the season.”

Dove hopes Chiefs can fix all their issues in Turkey pre-season

Dove is also thrilled by the prospect of playing build-up matches against top teams in Europe which he feels will give them a massive test before embarking on the new season.

“It is good to be in a place where we can play friendlies with high quality players and teams of a higher caliber which will be a good test for us as a collective,” he added.

“It will allow us to know where we stand and if we have something we will have enough time to fix before the season starts.”

The Glamour Boys are hoping that their European tour will yield success on the pitch following an underwhelming 2023-24 campaign when they finished 10th in the PSL.
