TS Galaxy Foundation chairperson Tim Sukazi cannot wait for the tournament to start and he feels it is what his team needs ahead of the new PSL campaign.

“We are very ecstatic to have managed to bring a German Bundesliga club to our shores. In as much as the primary objective of the matches is to prepare both TS Galaxy FC and FC Augsburg for their respective league competitions, the biggest beneficiary will be the ordinary South African audience who will watch a German Bundesliga club playing in South Africa, which is a rare event,” said Sukazi.

Augsburg proud to represent the Bundesliga in South Africa

“It is also fulfilling that FC Augsburg wish to achieve a long-standing partnership with TS Galaxy FC that will also see rural communities in and around Mpumalanga deriving certain benefits through the partnership that has been formed between the two clubs.”

FC Augsburg CEO Michael Stroll revealed his delight at having the Bundesliga side visit South Africa for the first time.

“It impressed us how much effort the TS Galaxy Foundation together with the local authorities put in for us to be able to come to South Africa for the first time. We are very much looking forward to the upcoming trip to Mpumalanga and the two matches at Mbombela Stadium, one of the venues for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. FC Augsburg is proud to represent the Bundesliga in South Africa,” explained Stroll.
