Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a double boost ahead of the Premier Soccer League outing against Magesi on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

In the game against Durban City, midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa and defender Aden McCarthy were forced to watch from the stands as they were serving a one-match suspension owing to the accumilation of four yellow cards.

The Glamour Boys won the fixture by a solitary goal, thanks to Glody Lilepo’s strike after Mfundo Vilakazi provided the assist. It was a welcome win for Amakhosi who had endured a four-match winless run across all competitions.

Through their media team, the Soweto giants have welcomed the availability of the duo against Dikwena Tsa Meetse.

“This encounter promises to be a fierce battle as Chiefs are chasing a CAF qualification spot, while Magesi are fighting to escape the relegation zone quagmire,” the Soweto giants reported.

“Chiefs will be boosted by the return of Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Aden McCarthy, both of whom missed Sunday’s match due to suspension. Their availability adds depth to a squad already strengthened by recent recoveries from injury,” they added.

Amakhosi are fifth on the table with 33 points after collecting nine wins, six draws, and four losses. A win might push them to third, depending on the outcome of the teams above them.

Magesi have been struggling to get back to their best; so far, they have managed to record 14 points from the 20 games that they have played so far. Dikwena Tsa Meetse have two victories, 10 defeats and eight draws.
