Gavin Hunt’s great job at Durban City continues after the veteran coach led the newly-promoted club to a third win in six games.
Hunt’s team beat Siwelele FC 2-0 at the Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday to move to fourth place on the table, an impressive return for the club.
Durban opened the scoring after 42 minutes, when striker Letsie Kaopeng slotted home after receiving the ball in the box.
After the break, it took Durban City six minutes to extend their lead after Siwelele failed to defend well from a set-piece.
Durban celebrate as Orbit suffer more pain
Haashim Domingo floated in a great ball from a freekick but Siwelele were not able to clear it first-time and a melee ensued in the box after which Trevor Mokwena got the final touch with his low shot heading into the net.
That is how it stayed as Durban City bounced back from their 2-0 loss to Sekhukhune United just before the international break to move to fourth spot on the table with 11 points, five behind leaders Babina Noko, who beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 also on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, Chippa United won their first match of the season while handing Orbit College a fourth straight defeat.
New signing Xolani Sithole gave the Chili Boys a 1-0 lead after 36 minutes and they had to wait until the 82nd minute for the second one which was scored by Justice Figuareido but Siyabulela Mabele pulled one for Orbit College deep into injury time.
