Former Orlando Pirates star, Mpho Makola, has weighed in on the Kaizer Chiefs' reported acquisition of Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane.
While Naturena remains tight-lipped with no official announcements of new signings, whispers from within the football fraternity suggest that the Soweto giants have indeed snapped up the talented duo, both recently released by their arch-rivals, Pirates.
Makola's reaction comes as Chiefs reportedly gear up for their pre-season training camp in the Netherlands, a move that could see Mako and Monyane integrate into the squad ahead of a highly anticipated season.
Makola, who also played for Cape Town City FC, is sure that Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane are poised for success at Chiefs.
He believes the duo will align with and contribute effectively to the tactical blueprint and playing style envisioned by the newly appointed coach, Nasreddine Nabi.

‘THEY WILL BRING MORE COMPETITION TO THE TEAM’
“It’s unfortunate that they left Pirates. I rate them highly; they are exceptional players in terms of character and quality. The level of competition at the team [Pirates] is high, but that does not mean they are not good enough. Some players will obviously be sacrificed,” Makola said.
“I know for sure that Chiefs will get more from these boys. They will bring more competition to the team. From the way I see it, they are still going to face the same positional competition at Chiefs.
“A team like Chiefs needs those kinds of players, those that have the mindset of winners and the never-say-die attitude. It’s a master stroke move.”
