The Bafana Bafana star has reportedly fallen out with the Red Devils tactician and is weighing  his options.

South Africa international Percy Tau has hinted his stay at Egyptian champions Al Ahly is as good as over.

On Saturday, the 30-year-old Bafana Bafana attacker removed the club's name from his X and Instagram profiles. This is barely two days after the Red Devils successfully defended their Premier League crown.

It was his 10th crown with the North African side, having won two Caf Champions League titles, Caf Super Cup, Egyptian Premier Leagues, three Egyptian Super Cups, and two Egypt Cups.

How was the relationship between Kohler and Tau?

Against Smouha, Tau was left out of the squad despite being available and fit. According to Al Masry website, upon learning of the technical bench's decision, the South African arrived late for the last training session,

His actions did not go down well with his coach Marcel Kohler who has now asked the management to consider letting him go.

Marcel-Kohler

“Kohler gave the Al-Ahly Football Planning Committee the green light to sell Percy Tau or look for a loan offer for him in the coming period, stressing that he does not need the player's efforts in light of the problems he causes every time he is left out of the starting lineup,” the media firm confirmed.

Will Mokwena jump on the opportunity?

Wydad Athletic Club are rebuilding ahead of the new season, and coach Rulani Mokwena, who is a big admirer of Tau, is not ruling out the possibility of working with Tau.

“Percy Tau is special to me. I agree with you. It’s a possibility that he can play for Wydad next season. He knows how much I love him and want to work together with him again,” the 37-year-old told respected African journalist Micky Junior.

After failing to sign Stephane Aziz Ki from Young Africans, Mokwena might jump on the opportunity to sign the versatile experienced attacker.
