‘He will make history’ – Orlando Pirates’ new signing tipped to outdo Mohau Nkota

Former TS Galaxy technical director Nermin Basic has given reasons why Kamogelo Sebelebele will be a major hit at Orlando Pirates.

Sebelebele is among the new signings at Pirates, having come in as replacement for Mohau Nkota, who joined Saudi club Al-Ettifaq.

The winger did not get a run out with his new team when he was named on the bench in their 2-0 win over Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarter-final on Saturday and his Basic says Bucs supporters have every reason to be delighted with his signing.

What makes Sebelebele stand out?

“Mike is an unbelievable player 1v1, you never know where and what he will do when dribbling, that’s why he will be top for Orlando Pirates, what’s important for me, is the next step from the player,” Basic said told the Bettor Podcast as quoted by iDiski Times.

“Pirates, I saw in the last years how they have improved the youngsters, and they have made some big transfers. Mike deserves to be there, and they know how they will use him; he will make history.”

Basic then went on over other qualities that make Sebelebele stand out, saying he offers much more than what Nkota brought to Pirates.

“He is a different player [to Nkota] but Mike can play different positions, four positions, left-back, right-back, number 10, either wing – this is value, he has this value, it’s a bonus, so that’s why he feels he adds value to Pirates, they made a good choice,” he added.

Pirates new signing has stiff competition

“But congratulations to him, and all the guys who have worked with him, previous coaches, everyone involved.”

Sebelebele scored five goals and provided two assists in 29 matches for Galaxy last season, and overall, the 22-year-old has eight goals and six assists in 86 PSL matches.

At Pirates, he will have to deal with competition from both Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis, who can also play on the right wing, while full-back Deon Hotto has been deployed there on certain occasions.
