Versatile TS Galaxy midfielder Puso Dithejane has opened up on what led to his exit from Kaizer Chiefs alongside Stellenbosch defender Omega Mdaka.
The duo was developed by the Glamour Boys before leaving, albeit controversially, after refusing to be the ball boys for the senior team. Dithejane has since been a hit at the Rockets, while Mdaka is now a starter at Stellies after Fawaaz Basadien's exit to Mamelodi Sundowns.
On Thursday, Dithejane won the August Player of the Month after scoring three goals and managing two assists. He beat Amakhosi goalkeeper Brandon Petersen for the award, despite the latter keeping five clean sheets in as many matches.
The 21-year-old has since explained how his exit from Amakhosi happened.
Chiefs told us we must leave

“It’s all the truth. I left because I refused to be a ball boy. We had a meeting before leaving. We didn’t have a disciplinary hearing. We just had a meeting. Then they told us we must leave. Then we left,” Dithejane told iDiski Times.
“I’m for me now. I can’t say that, because I’m improved now and I’ve added something to my career. So I won’t say that
“Um, I felt sad, [that I was leaving], obvious, and I was hoping I could play for Kaizer Chiefs, and maybe, maybe not, maybe I’m going to play there [in the future], but then I’m here at TS Galaxy now, focusing here. But I was hoping to play there, and I was working hard for that spot in the first team,” Dithejane concluded.
It is interesting to see whether Amakhosi will, in the future, go for the attacker.
