Orlando Pirates legend, Benedict “Tso” Vilakazi, has expressed deep concern over Kaizer Chiefs' recent form, warning of a potential disastrous season.
Despite a promising start to the season, with victories over AmaZulu FC and Marumo Gallants, Chiefs' fortunes took a turn for the worse following a defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns. Since then, the team has struggled to regain momentum under coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Vilakazi believes that Chiefs' woes are directly linked to Nabi's tactical approach, which he characterizes as “helicopter football.”
The former Pirates star contends that this style of play, relying heavily on crosses, is not suitable for Chiefs' current squad, which includes several shorter players who may struggle to compete in aerial duels.
Unless Nabi adapts his strategy, Vilakazi fears that Chiefs could face a challenging season.

‘CHIEFS HAVE A LOOMING DISASTER’
“I think Kaizer Chiefs have a looming disaster in their hands,” he said on iDiski TV.
“They have a coach who plays North African football, but the players are short and they are not compatible with long balls and crosses.
“This will be a bad season once again if Kaizer Chiefs or Nasreddine Nabi don’t change their approach in matches.
“South African players are small by nature and we cannot force them to play helicopter football. Every single time the ball is wide, it must be crossed.
“Who is in the box? Mdu Shabalala? He is short! Ashley Du Preez is short!
“Chiefs are going to find it difficult to win when they play like this. Clubs are going to analyse them and nullify them.”
