Kaizer Chiefs marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung has revealed the big ambitions the club has for next season in what is extra pressure on coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Chiefs finished a disappointing ninth place in the PSL last season, missing out on the top eight for a second successive season, but ended their 10-year trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup.
Having tasted success, Motaung says the club now have ambitions to win every trophy on offer, which includes the CAF Confederation Cup.
Jessica Motaung sets lofty targets
“We all have high expectations and we understand our supporters have high expectations too and for us, the vision is to continue succeeding,” she said on Newzroom Afrika.
“We worked hard last season and broke the hoodoo of not winning so we won the Nedbank Cup and certainly this season we are going for all the victories we can get.”
Motaung is banking on the club’s pre-season tour of the Netherlands, which she feels has prepared the players well, as well as the upcoming Toyota Cup against Ghana giants Asante Kotoko.
Can Chiefs win everything next season?

“The work done in pre-season I can see myself and our preparation with Asante Kotoko is a sign that we are very serious about the African continent,” added Motaung.
“We are playing a team that has good pedigree, history and is also part of the Confederation Cup so this is a way to say we are going to challenge ourselves. So, everything that is on offer, Chiefs are going for.”
Chiefs will take on Asante Kotoko on Saturday July 26 as they intensify their preparations for the new season which they will kick off with a tough match against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday, August 10.
