Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Portuguese striker Flávio Silva, strengthening their attacking department ahead of the new season.
He’s become the second signing that the club has announced following the unveiling of left-back Nkanyiso Shonga.
Joining Amakhosi from Indonesian Premier League side Persebaya Surabaya, Silva arrives with a notable goal-scoring pedigree.
The lanky striker burst onto the Southeast Asian scene in January 2023, famously scoring five goals in one game to propel Persik Kediri to a 5–2 victory against Persikabo 1973.
His prolific scoring continued, and he boasts an impressive record of 39 goals in 78 appearances during his stint in Liga 1.
The 2023/24 campaign was remarkably outstanding for him, as he netted 23 goals in just 29 matches. His consistency was evident from the start.
He scored seven goals in his first season at Persik Kediri and followed that up with nine goals in 33 games during his debut season with Persebaya.
Described as a classic number 9, Silva stands out with aerial prowess and instinctive finishing inside the box.
He comes in following the departure of Ranga Chivaviro who left at the end of the season.
