Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has revealed what gives him confidence that the Glamour Boys will have a successful CAF Confederation Cup run.
Chiefs are set to begin their group stage campaign with an away match to Egyptian club Al Masry with a positive start key in finishing in the top two positions and making it to the quarter-final.
Amakhosi have a squad of both young and experienced players who had won three games on the bounce before the international break and after most of them were not called up to their national teams, Chiefs have had ample time to prepare for the continental match.

Motaung Jr is counting on their fine preparations, saying there has been attention to detail from the coaching staff who now know how to cope with the threats of Sunday’s opponents.
What is Kaizer Jr counting on against Al Masry?
“We’re expecting a tough test in Egypt, which is well known for its passion for football,” Motaung Jr told the club’s website.
“Once we knew the draw and the destinations, we had to prepare thoroughly and, coming from the FIFA International break which we have used wisely, we are optimistic of giving our fans a good performance.”

“The technical staff have put the players through their paces. Our opposition have been thoroughly researched and analysed, so there is a positive feeling within the camp regarding the task at hand,” he added.
Chiefs are in what has been christened the ‘Group of Death’ which also has Egyptian giants Zamalek, two-time winners of the competition, as well as Zambian club Zesco United.

They will have little time to rest as their duel with Zamalek is scheduled on Saturday, November 29 and it has been planned at New Peter Mokaba Stadium where the Chiefs supremo feels his team will give account of themselves.
“Everyone in the group is playing to win and these are two very important games for us against tough opponents right at the start,” said Motaung Jr, emphasizing the importance of a strong start. “But we believe we pose a significant threat ourselves and we are going out to get maximum points,” he added.
The clash between Al Masry and Kaizer Chiefs will be staged at the Suez Stadium in Egypt and will kick off at 18:00 on Sunday, November 23.
