Kaizer Chiefs emerged victorious in the Soweto Derby, handing DStv Diski Challenge leaders Orlando Pirates a 2-1 defeat on Sunday afternoon.
The Buccaneers seized an early advantage after just 15 minutes. A handball in the box by Kabelo Nkgwesa resulted in a red card and a penalty, which Mphpo Padile coolly converted to give Pirates the lead.
However, Chiefs fought their way back into the match, with Steven Mendes equalising when he latched onto a loose ball and smashed it into the roof of the net.
