Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs extend coaches’ contracts

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have opted to renew the services of their coaches to help with consistency and the development of talent.

Amakhosi are among the teams that have been doing well in identifying talented youngsters. Amakhosi have produced some top players who are doing relatively well in the Premier Soccer League.

According to Soccer Laduma, the management has opted to stick to the existing set-up for junior teams.

What reports say on Kaizer Chiefs decision

“For now, the team have renewed all development coaches contracts, including from Under 14, 15, 17, 19 to DDC team,” the aforementioned publication confirmed.

“At the moment, these coaches include Coach Vela Khumalo (DDC Head coach), Coach Jimmy Jambo, Tshidiso Letsholenyane, David Mathebula, Mohamed Bhamjee and Dillon Sheppard.

“It’s not just Head coaches, but also goalkeeper coaches and fitness trainers like Tladi Mathibe, Rory Minnar, Edgar Mokgonyana, Muzi Maluleke, Leroy Fisher & Thulani Ntshingila to mention a few.

What does the future hold for Kaze and Ben Youssef?

Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze took over the senior team early in the season following the dismissal of Nasreddine Nabi who had failed to deliver as expected by the management.

The duo was given until the end of the season before analysis and review is made by the club. Amakhosi are on the verge of finishing third on the Premier Soccer League table for the first time in a couple of years.

“Yes as much as all other technical departments have renewed their contracts the senior team interim coaches  Ben Khalil Youssef and Cedric Kaze have not yet renewed theirs. I can’t say much about them at the moment but I believe they haven’t been renewed yet,” Soccer Laduma concluded.
