Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Amakhosi make a decision on Wandile Duba

Kaizer Chiefs are set to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Premier Soccer League campaign.

The Soweto giants did quite well in the league in the concluded campaign where they finished third behind the champions Orlando Pirates – who ended their 14-year drought, and Mamelodi Sundowns, which will see them play in CAF Confederation Cup.

Apart from the continental duties, Amakhosi will be competing domestically in MTN8, Carling Knockout, Nedbank Cup, and, of course, the league. This explains why they will need a strong squad and quality depth to deliver across all tournaments effectively.

Following the exit of co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, reports have it that Amakhosi have already acquired the services of Fernando Da Cruz to steer the team forward.

Kaizer Chiefs have moved to secure the future of striker Wandile Duba after reaching an agreement on a new contract for the academy graduate. Duba’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of June,” FARPost confirmed.

“The club and the 21-year-old forward have agreed terms on a new long-term deal that will keep him at Naturena beyond the upcoming season. The move underlines Chiefs’ belief in one of the club’s brightest young prospects, with the Piet Retief-born attacker viewed as an important part of the club’s plans going forward.

“A product of the Chiefs development structures, Duba has steadily established himself as a first-team player since earning promotion to the senior squad,” they added.

Last season, the 21-year-old struggled with injuries but still managed 21 appearances across all competitions with a return of three goals and two assists. Since making his debut, the versatile attacker has played 60 matches across all competitions, where he has scored nine goals and provided five assists.
