Chiefs put five past Polokwane

The DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] Sunday action delivered a goal-fest, with Kaizer Chiefs emerging as the day’s biggest winners after a clinical performance in Polokwane.

Amakhosi showed no mercy at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, thrashing Polokwane City FC 5-1.

Big update on Dortley

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has shared a major update on Rushwin Dortley. After 13 months out, the Bafana Bafana defender has finally started “touching the ball” on the grass!

Kaze also explained the “step-by-step” plan for Reeve Frosler as the club manages his workload following his recent return from a long layoff.

“That is the question that will be directed to the medical team, but last week he started to be with us, to touch the ball,” Kaze told the media.

“I’m pretty sure he is not far from returning.”

Chiefs advised on Mayo

Dan Malesela has shared an interesting piece of advice with Kaizer Chiefs regarding Khanyisa Mayo, who has failed to fire on all cylinders in front of the net despite scoring earlier this week.

“It depends on what Chiefs see and what they want from him. What is not nice is that sometimes he doesn’t play, or he comes from the bench,” says the former Baroka FC coach, speaking to KickOff.

“When you have a player who comes with a reputation, you expect him to play all the time. I’m not sure whether Chiefs would want to keep him or not, but with the way strikers of Mayo’s quality are so scarce, I would keep him at the club.

“Where are you going to find a striker? As a team and a coach, I would rather keep him and use him the way I would want to use him next season.

“If you release Mayo now, then where are you going to get another striker?”
