Chiefs coach issues bold statement to Broos
Kaizer Chiefs coach Khalil Ben Youssef insists at least four players from his team must make the Bafana Bafana squad for the World Cup.
Chiefs players have been missing out on national team call-ups with coach Hugo Broos saying they were not deserving given their team’s poor form but now that they are in third place, Ben Youssef feels it is time.
“When the list of Bafana Bafana will find at least minimum three, four players from Kaizer Chiefs than you know that the team is coming and is ready to compete for the league,” he said as per iDiski Times.
“I think it’s not because I’m the coach of Kaizer Chiefs, but I think some of our players deserve to get a chance considering the performances they’re showing, considering their consistency.”

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef claims that his team can have no equals in the PSL if they maintain their level of consistency as they are good enough to challenge for the league title.
“I’m sure that if this team performs very well, no one can stop us in the league,” said Ben Youssef.
“The process is there, the performance is there. I think the big difference between this season and last season is that the results are there.”

Kaizer Chiefs striker Flavio Da Silva is the first one to reach double figure in goals at the club this season after taking his tally to 10 during their 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.
Silva, who is in his first season at Chiefs, has netted eight goals in the league, one in the CAF Confederation Cup and another one in the Nedbank Cup, to take him ahead of second-placed Glody Lilepo, who has eight.
Silva is also the first player to score eight league goals for Chiefs in four years, matching the tally achieved by Keagan Dolly in the 2021-22 season and he still has three games to add onto his count and perhaps close in on the Golden Boot race.
