Kaizer Chiefs have made changes in the technical team, hoping to deliver domestically and abroad in the forthcoming campaign.

The Glamour Boys finished third on the Premier Soccer League table and, as a result, qualified for the MTN8. They will also be chasing the Nedbank Cup, Carling Knockout and CAF Confederation Cup.

In the last two editions, the Soweto giants failed to qualify for the MTN8 as they finished 10th and ninth respectively. It explains why their fans are excited to be part of the eight teams that will be competing for the title.

Amakhosi’s traditional rivals, Orlando Pirates, have won the last four editions. Club’s assistant coach Dillon Sheppard insists his team will deliver, starting with the MTN8, where they are scheduled to play Golden Arrows.

“It’s important that one competes on all fronts and that begins with the MTN8. It’s a competition of four games so it affords a really good opportunity to win a trophy,” Sheppard stated as quoted by SABC Sport.

The earlier you win a trophy to go with positive opening results in the league, that can really set you up for the rest of the campaign.”

“I’m really looking forward to working with the new coach, but also the technical team. As coaches we are always looking to learn so I’m excited for what lies ahead,” he concluded.

Chiefs are under Fernando Da Cruz, who took over from Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef. The duo had been appointed early in the season to replace Nasreddine Nabi who was into his second year with the club.
