Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Striker from North African club confirmed!

Kaizer Chiefs have been one of the clubs that are working on having a competitive squad to challenge for the 2026/27 Premier Soccer League title.

The Glamour Boys have already lost one of their stars, Aden McCarthy, to Azerbaijan outfit Sabah FC, while Happy Mashiane and George Matlou – who were seen as surplus to requirements, have been let go.

Furthermore, defender Dillan Solomons and goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma’s contracts have been extended by the Soweto giants. Amakhosi, who finished third on the Premier Soccer League table last season, for the first time in six years, feel they can challenge champions Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns for the title.

Coach Fernando Da Cruz was recently appointed to take over following the exit of Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef. The management is determined to help him be a success at the Naturena Village.

Striker joins Moloisane at Chiefs?

“Having announced the signing of Thabo Moloisane recently, Kaizer Chiefs have also completed a deal for striker Khanyisa Mayo,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“Amakhosi had Mayo on loan from Algerian outfit CR Belouizdad during the past season, but it was not a good campaign on the playing field for the former Cape Town City striker, who was unable to rattle the back of the net regularly.

“Despite the challenges he faced, Amakhosi have shown confidence in the striker to give him a deal.

“Mayo will get to work with new Amakhosi coach Fernando Da Cruz and is believed to be determined to fight for his spot in the team and repay the faith shown in him by management at Naturena,” they added.

Mayo played 15 matches for Amakhosi across all competitions in his debut campaign, but found the back of the net just twice.
