Kaizer Chiefs are expected to continue bolstering their squad in preparations for the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season.
Amakhosi have reportedly completed the deals for Asanele Velebayi, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, and Etiosa Ighodaro, who have been included in the squad that will camp in the Netherlands. The Glamour Boys have struggled to score, explaining why coach Nasreddine Nabi is keen on getting options ahead of a busy campaign.
Ranga Chivaviro, who scored nine goals in 45 games for the club, was released a couple of weeks ago. Reports have it that the Soweto giants have identified a prolific striker who will probably lead the attacking department.
Amakhosi keen on signing Silva
“Kaizer Chiefs look poised to secure the signature of Flavio Silva, a Portuguese striker with roots in Guinea-Bissau. Silva is a product of the Sporting CP youth academy, where he began his footballing journey,” FARPost reported.
“He boasts an impressive record of 39 goals in 78 appearances during his stint in Liga 1. Last season was remarkably outstanding for him, as he netted 23 goals in just 29 matches. His consistency was evident from the start. He scored seven goals in his first season at Persik Kediri and followed that up with nine goals in 33 games during his debut season with Persebaya.
“The 29-year-old, born in Bissau, on the coast of West Africa, is a target man who provides a clear focal point for the team. He is capable of powerful shots with both feet. The striker has good pace for his height. The former Benfica B forward presses aggressively and is a clinical finisher who often capitalises on opponents’ mistakes while creating space around the box,” they added.
