PSL leaders Kaizer Chiefs served an early warning ahead of Sunday’s date

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise insists Masandawana are determined to get maximum points from Kaizer Chiefs this weekend.

The Brazilians will make a trip to the FNB Stadium on Saturday to play the Soweto Giants, who have collected maximum points from the two Premier Soccer League matches they have played this season.

Amakhosi started their campaign in the South African top tier with a 3-1 victory over Kruger United before beating Sekhukhune United 2-0. In between, they were beaten by Golden Arrows by a solitary goal in the MTN8 quarter-final.

Masandawana’s first assignment was in the MTN8 against Polokwane, where they had to dig deep to emerge 3-2 victors, the same scoreline registered in the PSL fixture with TS Galaxy.

Mkhulise adamant Sundowns will humble Amakhosi

The 30-year-old, who was on target twice in the win over the Rockets, insists Sundowns are keen on leaving the FNB Stadium with maximum points.

“It’s a big game, and Chiefs are doing well in the league, having won their first two games,” he told the club’s media team.

“So, it’s a big one, they’re playing home and are motivated. But also, as Mamelodi Sundowns we’re ready for this big game. We want to make our supporters and three points to go on top of the table.

“We will give our all and we promise our supporters we won’t disappoint them as our 12th man; we need them behind us on the day,” he concluded.

This will be a massive test for coach Fernando Da Cruz, who is hoping to help the Glamour Boys challenge for the PSL title, as well as other domestic and continental trophies.
