Kaizer Chiefs opened their CAF Confederation Cup’s Group D assignments with a 2-1 loss away to Al Masry before securing a point in the 1-1 draw at home with Zamalek SC last weekend.
After match-day two, Al Masry lead the race to the quarter-final with maximum points while the 2023/24 champions come second with two points less. The Glamour Boys are third with a point as Zambia heavyweights Zesco United tail the pool with no point.

In the recent 10 games across all competitions, Amakhosi have collected just four wins which is not impressive considering the number of players they signed as well as the quality within them.
Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika is happy with his fitness levels after initial struggles with injuries as well as competition to get into the starting team as he was down the pecking order.

“[The CAF Confederation Cup] is still in the process because there are still more games to play. I think we have learned from the past two games we have played, and we are getting better.
“We probably need to readjust and go back to the league again because the focus for now was still CAF. Now we are going to play Chippa in Port Elizabeth, and it’s always a difficult game to be honest because it’s always tough playing against Chippa,” he concluded.
