Kaizer Chiefs fans may be buzzing with their team’s current run of form but defender Inacio Miguel is not celebrating just yet.
Chiefs have put together a run of five straight league wins which leaves them as firm favourites to finish in third position and clinch the automatic CAF Confederation Cup slot while even second place could still suffice.
That has taken their tally to 45 points, their best points haul in four years, and still with seven games to play. While fans and observers are thrilled by what is being witnessed from Amakhosi, Miguel is not.

“In the past, our main problem was finding the consistency to establish momentum,” Miguel told the club’s website.
Why Inacio Miguel is not pleased
“It’s not about winning one or two games, it’s about putting a run of four, five games, and I think we are now on the right road. However, it’s not enough yet. Being at a big club like Kaizer Chiefs, it shouldn’t be a surprise to see a run like this; it should be expected, so we aim to make winning a habit.”
Miguel was among those who were making their return to the team after an injury lay-off when Chiefs thrashed Magesi FC 4-1 on Wednesday and was not happy that they allowed the relegation-threatened club to score.

“I had mixed feelings afterwards, to be honest” he added. “Because I am a defender and my main focus is to prevent goals, so although I’m delighted with the result and the four goals we scored, I wasn’t happy that we conceded a goal against Magesi. That should not happen, with all due respect to them.”
Kaizer Chiefs defender issues rallying call
The Angolan defender is hoping that Chiefs can make it six straight wins when they face Polokwane City on Saturday although he acknowledges that it will not be easy against the seventh-placed side.

“We have only had two days to prepare but our technical team has studied them and shared their analysis with us, so we have a game plan, but I must stress that there are no easy games in the PSL, and every opponent is motivated lift their game when they play against Kaizer Chief,” said Miguel.
“Therefore, we have to match and exceed that determination with the even stronger mindset that comes with representing Amakhosi. If every player wins his duels, that will go a long way to deciding the match in our favour.”
