Kaizer Chiefs captain Inacio Miguel has called for a measured approach after the team's successful 2-0 start to the Betway Premiership season against Stellenbosch FC.
Speaking ahead of their next game against Polokwane City, Miguel highlighted the potential risks of the high expectations that can surround the club.
Miguel emphasized that the team's strategy is to keep their feet on the ground and not put excessive pressure on themselves.
He believes that by taking a “one game at a time” approach, the team can focus better and perform consistently. The captain's message is that while they appreciate the support, the team's immediate priority is their upcoming match against Polokwane City on Wednesday.

‘EXPECTATIONS ARE DANGEROUS’
“Expectations are dangerous, you know, as it can create a lot of things in your mind. So you have to live the moment,” said Miguel.
“Then enjoy the moment. Last season when I arrived, we had a lot of expectations about what we can do, about what we can achieve. Thanks to God, we had good achievements last season, but we also had some bad moments.
“So, this season I think I will live game by game and do my best in every training every day. I will try to focus on today and not what can happen next week.
“So, the big difference from last season to this season will be that we have to go game by game without a lot of expectations. I’m not thinking of what we can achieve.
“I’m thinking of the next game, and that way it will be easy for everybody. It was an important win because starting the season with a win helps. Our focus is now on Polokwane.”
