Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm has explained what will help his side reach the knockout stages in the CAF Champions League.

Pirates played out to a 0-0 draw with Al Ahly on Saturday, collecting their fourth point after two games played so far in the group stages.

Timm was thrown in during the second half, coming on in the 82nd minute for Makhehlene Makhaula.

Speaking to the media after the game, Timm said their approach of taking one game at a time has been working perfectly for the Sea Robbers.

He feels the quality they have is enough to help them qualify for the knockout stages.

WHAT TIMM SAID ABOUT PIRATES’ JOURNEY IN CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

“I think the approach has been one game at a time, clearly it’s been working for us,” Timm told the media after the match.

“We have our next challenge in Ivory Coast, but like again we’ve shown, we go into every game confident knowing that we have the tools to compete with the best.

“And I think we’ll show it again next week. I think we confident even though this is a tough group. I think we have enough quality to push on and get through to the next stages of the competition.

“It’s important for the players to stay logged in. Obviously, also the technical team plays a big role in how they manage the squad and just to be ready to contribute where it’s needed.”
