Orlando Pirates forward Relebohile Mofokeng has earned praise from the club’s former coach Roger De Sa, who feels he can be the difference maker for Bafana Bafana at the 2026 World Cup.
Mofokeng continues to earn rare reviews from observers in South Africa and beyond due to his immense talent that makes him the best young player in the country at the moment.
The 21-year-old has been in scintillating form for Pirates, especially this year, with seven goals in his last nine matches as he continues to lead Pirates in their quest for the league title.
De Sa lauds special Rele Mofokeng
With the World Cup around the corner, Bafana coach Hugo Broos has already declared that he will play him as a No10 and De Sa is wowed by what he has seen so far, terming him a special player that has few equals.
“He’s got that special thing in him,” De Sa said on SoccerBeat. “He can create something out of nothing. That is different from anybody else.”
De Sa says Mofokeng is as good as players in Europe and South America and can pull off something special for South Africa at the World Cup.

“He is different to a lot of players all over the world, definitely from players in Europe,” he added.
“There are South American players like him but there are very few that can do what he does and hopefully, he pulls a rabbit out of the hat in one of those [World Cup] matches.”
Mofokeng will hope to maintain his form and hopefully help Pirates to their first league title in 14 years which will win him plenty of accolades and make him one of South Africa’s main men at the World Cup, potentially also earning him a transfer overseas.
