Royal AM’s problems have continued to deepen following reports that the players are on a go slow and have boycotted training over nonpayment of their December salaries.
The players have not returned to training, leading to the cancellation of their match against Chippa United, which has led to an outcry from the Chilli Boys who claim the fixture has been postponed “with no reason given.”
Royal AM are believed to have requested the PSL to grant them permission to postpone the match as they sort out their problems since there would have been no players to face Chippa.
The club is deep in a financial hole having been slapped with a transfer ban over their inability to pay R15 million owed to former striker Samir Nurkovic.
What else if facing Royal AM?
Club president Shauwn Mkhize is also facing trouble from the South African Revenue Services (SARS) as she allegedly owes the taxman close to R40 million in tax debts linked to her family trust which has affected her other assets, including the football club.
Mkhize had her property raided in late last year over the issue and SARS could liquidate the club as part of their efforts to recover the debt while world football governing body FIFA could swing into action over the nonpayment of players.
Royal’s financial problems have had an impact on their performances as they are second from bottom with just eight points, having won only one of their 11 league matches so far.
