Celebrated South African coach Pitso Mosimane has been warned against soiling his reputation if he continues taking some risky jobs.
Recently, Mosimane fell out with Iran outfit Esteghlal after a breach of contract. The 60-year-old had been appointed to help turn the club's fortunes around, but it ended on a sour note between the involved parties.
Prior to his move to Iran, the former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns coach had helped Al Ahli Jeddah win promotion to the Saudi Pro League. He then briefly coached UAE's Al Wahda before another short, unsuccessful stint with Abha in Saudi Arabia.
It contradicts the success he had in Mzansi with SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns before going to Egypt where he coached the Red Devils. But after the latest setback, respected Egyptian agent Amr Hosni has given Mosimane a piece of advice.
Mosimane needs a stable project

“Pitso is still held in high esteem here in Egypt as someone who worked at Ahly. Based on money that he was earning at Ahly, where coaches get a lot of money, it means his options in this market are limited if he is going to come at the same money,” he said in his latest interview with the media.
“He was recently linked with Zamalek because of the good work he is known to do. I think he is now in need of a stable project, where he will stay long, instead of the ones that he has had, which run the risk of soiling his reputation.
“It doesn’t look good that he has been to so many clubs in such a short period. I feel Pitso has his reputation at stake now. He is not a fly-by-night coach. I feel it would make sense to consider the South African market or a national team job where he will work for at least three years.
“The project has to be right for him instead of the jobs that he has had, where it seems he has not been trusted by his employers,” Hosni concluded.
