Nabi advised to sign fringe Pirates striker: ‘Who is better than him at Chiefs?’

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has been asked by club legend Brian Baloyi to consider signing Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa or struggling Mamelodi Sundowns forward Peter Shalulile.

The Glamour Boys have been struggling to convert the many chances they create during competitive matches.

The Tunisian tactician recently stated he wants the management to go for players who are Amakhosi's class. The ones who can improve the team after three Premier Soccer League wins, as many losses and three draws as well.

Who is better than Pirates' Lepasa?

The Buccaneers forward Zakhele Lepasa has not had a good run this season owing to competition and injuries. Baloyi believes the Bafana Bafana international is the right man for Amakhosi.

“There's a certain player at Pirates who is not playing,” Baloyi told Metro FM Sports regarding players he feels will improve Nabi's outfit.

“Yes, tell me who's better than him at Chiefs right now? He's a Bafana player. When he plays, he has been part of [Hugo] Broos' squad.”

Namibia international Peter Shalulile is now down the pecking order at Masandawana, but Baloyi believes the 31-year-old can be a real deal for the Soweto giants.

“It looks like Shalulile is not happy at [Sundowns], he is not getting game-time, one of the top strikers on the continent, not just in this league,” the former South Africa goalkeeper continued.

“If Chiefs are serious, with a player like that, instead of going on and looking for a player around the continent and spending that kind of money, spend it on [players] you know they can deliver, especially in this league.”

Shalulile's current contract expires at the end of the season.
