Nabi delivers verdict on Tebogo Potsane

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has weighed in on what he expects from Tebogo Potsane who has impressed off the bench in the last two games.

The attacker recently returned from an eight-month injury layoff and was impressive as a substitute against Polokwane as well as Sunday’s match away to TS Galaxy.

Potsane showed great pace and trickery down the left wing in the 2-0 loss to Polokwane, coming close to scoring, and was among players who impressed in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Galaxy, helping Chiefs rescue a point from the jaws of defeat.

Nabi, however, feels the player is not ready to start even with a lack of quality on the wings and is giving him time to hit the right fitness levels.

What does Nabi expect from Potsane?

“He’s a good player, but he’s a player coming from a long-term injury,” Nabi said as per FARPost.

“We feel that he’s a player that would have given you 60-70 minutes. When you look at his performance, he did very well in the first 30 minutes. It’s only his second game of the league. We feel that he’s only 60 percent of his capacity. He can do better.”

The winger has endured a painful time at Chiefs and will hope to gain full fitness to show his true qualities especially in the second half of the season.

Chiefs are in desperate need of quality in attack, given how badly they struggled to create chances and threaten Galaxy’s goal on Sunday, and players like Potsane will offer that before they get further reinforcements in the midseason transfer window.
