Mamelodi Sundowns’ dream of successfully defending the CAF Champions League title was halted on Friday night.

The holders faced Angolan side Wiliete SC in the second leg of the second preliminary round aware that victory was all they needed to make the group stage. However, it ended 1-1 with the visitors advancing on away goal rule thanks to a goalless draw in the first leg.

While Wiliete fans were celebrating for their achievement, the Brazilians were reeling in pain.
