Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has opened up on his decision to bring former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands to Raja Casablanca as part of his technical team.

Nabi, who took charge of the Moroccan giants after leaving Chiefs almost a year ago, has turned to the South African goalkeeping coach as he continues reshaping his backroom staff ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Sandilands returns to Raja for a second stint after previously serving at the club under Nabi’s predecessor, Fadlu Davids.

The 42-year-old has already arrived in Casablanca and begun his duties as the club intensifies preparations for the new campaign.

He replaces Tunisian goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi, who recently departed after an alleged explicit video surfaced online. Mzoughi later denied the video’s authenticity, claiming it had been generated using artificial intelligence as part of an extortion attempt after he allegedly refused to pay blackmailers $20,000 [about R329,000].

“I have respect for him, and he’s a true professional. I contacted him because I believe my goalkeepers will benefit from someone like him,” Nabi said as quoted by FARPost

Has Moremi chosen a different path?

Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana winger Tshepang Moremi has seemingly taken inspiration from the club’s talented photographers after working his magic behind the lens in a recently shared video.

Tshepang Moremi showed he may have more than one creative talent after swapping the football pitch for the camera during a light-hearted training session at the club’s Rand Stadium base.

The Buccaneers gave supporters a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the moment on social media, with Moremi trying his hand at photography using the club’s professional cameras in a fun piece of content shared on Tuesday.

Instead of being in front of the lens, the 25-year-old stepped behind it, capturing teammates as they emerged from the tunnel ahead of training. Pirates even revealed some of Moremi’s finished shots, giving fans a look at the winger’s unexpected eye for photography.

Bucs to move to a bigger stadium?

Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has predicted a bright future for Kabelo Kgositsile, who made a big impression in his first appearance from the bench for Orlando Pirates last weekend.

Kgositsile made a fearless debut for the Buccaneers during a 2-0 Betway Premiership victory over newly promoted Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday.

He was signed by the Soweto giants a while back but sent out on loan to Baroka for more game-time.

“His first match for Pirates was fantastic. He went there and fitted [in] like a hand in a glove. He is a very brave young man. I’m so excited about his future career,” Mphahlele told the KickOff.

“I think we’re gonna see more of him.

“He is still young. Good luck to him and Orlando Pirates, they have signed a good player there. He will give them a lot of assists and provide their supporters with entertainment.

“Orlando Amstel Arena is gonna be too small for the fans who will be coming just to watch Kgositsile play. They need to find a bigger venue to accommodate the crowds that will be coming to watch the boy.

“The crowd will grow for sure,” added the Bakgakga boss.
