‘Orlando Pirates’ nonsense was enough to overtake Chiefs! Khoza bought third goal’

Published on by

Orlando Pirates leaped to the top of the Premier Soccer League table thanks to their 3-0 victory over Chippa United at the Kings Park Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Ghampani Lungu, Lebone Seema, and Daniel Msendami were enough to ensure Bucs sent Kaizer Chiefs to the second position on goal difference. Both Soweto giants have managed two wins and a draw from the three league matches this season.

While some supporters are happy with the result, some are questioning the display from the players and the team at large. Have a look at their arguments as sampled by Afrik-Foot.

Pirates supporters lack patience

What I learned about our team: let’s not panic. The results will tell –  David Delekoa

I’m a bit unconvinced yet, but good work Bucs. Let’s support Mbuthuma. Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with what he did – Sizwe Sima

Pirates supporters, we lack patience, and we need to learn to support and have faith in our team – Donovan Calvin Meyer

They say Irvin Khoza bought the third goal so that Orlando Pirates could be on top of the log –  Sam Madlopha

Three goals, three points. Not the best of performances, but I’m happy we capitalised on Chippa’s mistakes. Fantastic shift from Tito and Seema. Wadu needs to sort out that midfield. It’s very shaky. We need Selepe. Yanela Mbuthuma needs to come on from the bench – Guliwe

Turn Seema into a threat from corners

The overall performance wasn’t good, but we did what any top team would do: take advantage of a significantly average side. Our players and coach must wake up – Tumelo

I guess we should just watch and not panic because in the first half you guys were sh*tty, but we appreciate the three points – Rich Freez

Please get the coach to turn Lebone Seema into a threat on corners. Once we have a defender who can convert the number of corners we get, we will be unstoppable

Well done, lads. It’s good to collect points even when we don’t play well. We have serious problems there on 6. Lungu gave us nothing until the goal; maybe he should be our 9. The less said about Mbuthuma, the better. Another defender of the season award is loading for Seema – Tshepo

Orlando Pirates’ nonsense was enough to overtake Chiefs! We will take three points and move on – Nkosi Emmanuel
