Orlando Pirates have finally confirmed the departure of Monnapule Saleng to newly-promoted Orbit College.
Saleng was reported to be close to a shock move to his former club Orbit College, who secured promotion to the PSL after beating Cape Town City in the promotion-relegation playoff last month, and the Buccaneers have now revealed details of the winger’s transfer.
“Orlandopiratesfc.com can also confirm that an agreement has been reached with Orbit College FC for the loan of Monnapule Saleng. The 27-year-old will spend the 2025/26 season with the newly-crowned outfit,” Pirates said through a statement on their website.
Saleng to kickstart his career at Orbit College

That means Saleng will spend the rest of next season at the club that honed his skills before he moved to Free State Stars, where he spent four impressive years, after which he joined Pirates in 2021.
Saleng has not played for Pirates in the PSL since November 2024, while his last appearance for the club was in a CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly last December.
The winger’s issues have never been addressed with former Pirates coach Jose Riveiro shrugging off the question all the time while there were claims that he is unhappy with his current contract.
Saleng has played 70 games and scored 25 goals, adding 17 assists, during his four-year stay at Pirates, among them five goals in 13 games last term, before he was frozen out of the squad for reasons yet to be known.
Who else is leaving Orlando Pirates?

Meanwhile, Pirates have also confirmed the departure of midfielder Philip Ndlondlo, who was also reported last weekend to be heading out of the club, after the end of his contract.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm the departure of midfielder Phillip Ndlondlo. The 28-year-old is now free to sign with a club of his choice,” Pirates said.
“Ndlondlo, who joined the Buccaneers in 2022, made a number of notable contributions during his time in the famous black and white.
“The club extends its sincere gratitude to Phillip for his professionalism and commitment during his spell at Orlando Pirates and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
