Orlando Pirates have responded to reports linking youngster Relebohile Mofokeng with an over R100m million transfer to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.
Mofokeng has been heavily linked with a move away from Pirates this off-season but a transfer is yet to materialise with reports claiming clubs in Israel and the United States of American are interested.
However, the latest news claim that Eredivisie club PSV are keen to sign the 20-year-old winger and have made an offer of over R100 million to Pirates but the Soweto giants have not taken the reports kindly, slamming the media for what they term misleading reporting.
What have Pirates said over Rele’s PSV links?

“We wish to place it on record that no such offer has been received by the club,” Pirates said via a club statement on Wednesday evening, saying the news was just sensational reporting.
“This type of reporting is not only misleading to the public but also serves as an unnecessary distraction aimed at unsettling both the player and the club at a critical juncture in our preparations for the upcoming season.
“Orlando Pirates remain committed to the well-being of our players and will continue to act in their best interests. We call upon all media outlets to refrain from publishing unverified reports that seek to create instability for the sake of clicks.”
Can the Buccaneers hold onto Mofokeng?

Mofokeng has remained mum over his future amid the reports linking him with a move away from the Soweto giants and he is part of the squad currently on pre-season tour of Spain.
The winger was on target in Pirates’ last match when he showed great quality to beat his markers before firing home to equalise during the Buccaneers’ 1-1 draw with Cyrus champions Pafos on Sunday.
However, even with the Pirates denial, reports will continue to link the youngster with a move away after his impressive 2025-26 season, when he scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists, which has earned him five nominations in the PSL Awards.
Pirates will take on Spanish side Las Palmas in their penultimate pre-season game on Thursday evening before completing their tour of Spain with a match against Granada on Saturday.
